eMotion, Inc. Races For More Than Just A Cure

Global Leader in Digital Media Management Helps Fight Cancer and Participates in Community Outreach Programs Nationwide

Vienna, VA, June 1, 2000 — eMotion, Inc., the global leader in digital media management, announced today that nearly one half of its 170 employees will participate at the 11th Annual Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation National Race for the Cure in Washington D.C. on June 3, 2000. Other community outreach initiatives that eMotion employees are involved in include the 3-Day Avon Breast Cancer Walk, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Santa Maria Urban Ministries and “Sikuy”, a Jewish-Arab non-profit organization.

To encourage employees to participate at the 11th Annual Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation National Race for the Cure in Washington D.C, eMotion is flying every employee from each of the four offices nationwide to its headquarters in Vienna, VA to participate in the Race, as well as weekend workshops and corporate events.

Bob Griffin, CEO of eMotion expressed, “We are committed to social responsibility as an intragal part of our corporate culture. It is important for us to be active leaders and contributors in our communities, just as eMotion is in the industry. We encourage all of our employees to get involved and this weekend’s event is a great cause that we can all participate in together.”

Volunteering their time is nothing new for eMotion’s employees. Kristen Jorgenson, eMotion’s Marketing Events Manager, is continuing her crusade for a cure for cancer as a participant in the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. This annual event draws more than 2000 participants who walk over 60 miles from San Jose to San Francisco. All of the proceeds are going toward non-profit breast health programs throughout the United States and cutting-edge medical research on women’s diseases at leading academic institutions.

Former Minnesota Vikings player Chris Gamble, now Director of Sales of eMotion’s Southern Region, has been a mentor for the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization for several years. “It is amazing what a few hours of quality time will do for a child’s growth, not to mention how great it makes you feel,” Gamble conveyed.

Doug Merrell, eMotion software engineer, spends some of his free time working with inner city kids at the Santa Maria Urban Ministries in San Jose. He directly mentors the Computer Club program which gives children the access and understanding of how computers work and what resources they can offer. “I had a great role model to look up to when I was young and I think it helped in the decisions I made growing up. I want these kids to know that they have opportunities and options in life,” Merrill said.

In the Los Angeles office, Marketing Events Coordinator Shira Adatto offers her time at the non-profit organization “Sikuy”, which is a Hebrew word meaning chance or opportunity. This group consists mostly of college-age people and promotes Jewish-Arab co-existence as well as a peaceful environment in the Middle East. Adatto stated, “After living in Israel for the past eight years and seeing the hatred these two cultures have for each other, I wanted to share my experiences and work to ease the tensions here in the states.”
