Digital Media Management Firm Strengthens Northern Virginia as Nation’s Fastest-Growing Technology Region

VIENNA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 16, 2000—eMotion Inc., the leader in digital media management solutions, announced today their ranking on the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500, a listing of the fastest-growing technology companies in North America.

The selection is based on the five-year percentage revenue growth from 1995 to 1999. eMotion grew more than 1,200 percent during this period which resulted in a ranking of 284 overall.

eMotion’s ranking strengthens the recognition of Northern Virginia as one of the nation’s premier technology regions. There are 37 Northern Virginia companies that made list, including the number one overall. For the first time in the six-year history of the Fast 500 the West coast did not have any companies in the top five (and only three in the top ten).

The majority of Fast 500 winners, or 46 percent, are in the software industry. Seventeen percent are Internet related, and nine percent are in the biotechnology industry. The remaining companies are in medical, technical and scientific manufacturing, communications, computers and peripherals, semiconductors, components and electronics, and other types of technology.
