Throw Another .gif On The Barbie, The Australian Tourist Commission Offers Images Via The Internet
eMotion Inc., Provides Software To Build ATC Library Of High-Resolution Pictures For Travel Writers
Vienna, VA, September 6, 2000- eMotion Inc., the global leader
in digital media management, announced today that the Australian
Tourist Commission (ATC) is using eMotion software to manage a library
of high quality photos of Australia available to travel writers
and photo editors.
eMotion technology is helping to develop and maintain ATCs
large collection of photographs of Australias most famous
sites and attractions, such as the Great Barrier Reef, Ayers Rock,
and the skyline of Sydney, the host city for the 2000 Summer Olympics.
The collection also features spectacular images of Australian wildlife,
including crocodiles, kangaroos, and koalas.
Travel editors and photo editors are able to enrich their articles
on Australia with high-resolution pictures by using the ATC online
library. They can easily search through the library and download
the needed images instantly.
"With the upcoming Summer Olympics and increasing popularity
of Australia as a vacation destination, we are receiving more and
more requests for high quality photos from North America,"
said Lyndel Gray, regional director of the ATC. "We were having
a hard time keeping up with all the requests from journalists. Now
with the eMotion software in place, we can instantly provide a range
of beautiful images of Australia through our Web site 24 hours a
day, seven days a week."
The pictures on the Web site are for production purposes only. All
images have a high print quality and are owned by ATC and several
partners. They are free for non-commercial use. Some charges may
apply for commercial use.
"eMotion is very pleased to partner with the ATC," said
Bob Griffin, CEO of eMotion, Inc. "We used our patented technology
to provide web access to a wonderful collection of images, which
bring the beauty of Australia to the readership of various magazines
and newspapers across North America. The images of Australias
wild life, such as the famous crocodiles, look so life-like that
youll think twice about putting your fingers too close to
the screen."
