eMotion, Inc. and Convera Announce Integration
of Video Logging and Management Technologies
Las Vegas, NAB 2001 - April 23, 2001 eMotion, Inc. the global leader in digital media management (DMM) solutions, and Convera (Nasdaq: CNVR), today announced a partnership to provide Global 2000 corporations, government customers, and companies within the Broadcast and Entertainment industry a complete video logging and media management solution by integrating Convera Screening Room® with eMotion MediaPartner 4.0. The capabilities of these two products are complementary, offering customers an integrated solution with significant enhancements in the area of video and media management. Per the agreement, Convera and eMotion will jointly market and sell their integrated solution.
"The Convera Screening Room solution is one of the best for logging video and creating storyboards, and enabling easier searching of video," said Bob Griffin, president and CEO of eMotion, Inc. "MediaPartner 4.0 is specifically architected to quickly integrate and take advantage of the strength of complementary products, bringing better value to customers by leveraging what each does well. We believe that our aligned companies' products, technologies, and organizations create an unparalleled opportunity to offer value and a comprehensive media solution to our mutual customers."
Convera Screening Room provides scalable, high-performance access to any video asset (analog or digital) from an ordinary Web browser. With Screening Room, users can automatically capture video; browse visual summaries (called "storyboards"); catalog content using metadata, annotations, closed caption text, and voice sound tracks; search for precise video clips using text and image clues; create rough cuts and "Edit Decision Lists" for further production; and publish those video assets to the Web for streaming.
eMotion MediaPartner 4.0 offers powerful digital media management of all media types, providing content collaboration, deep storage, search and retrieval using the patented eMotion annotation viewer for review and approvals of media. The software is user-customizable and installs "out-of-the-box," which means that customers are up and running in less than a day.
"eMotion MediaPartner brings significant enterprise features
that our customers are looking for," said Pat Condo, CEO of
Convera. "The ability to log video with Screening Room, and
then collaborate across distributed data stores during the production
cycle with ad hoc rights management using MediaPartner 4.0 creates
even greater efficiency for our corporate and entertainment customers."
