eMotion, Inc. Releases MediaPartner 4.1
Enhanced workflow, Collaboration and Integration Capabilities Added to Leading Digital Media Management Software
VIENNA, VA, January 18, 2002 eMotion, Inc. today announced the release of version 4.1 of the company's leading out-of-the-box digital media management software. MediaPartner 4.1 Enterprise software builds further on eMotion's core technology, adding new capabilities in workflow, collaboration and integration. The release of MediaPartner 4.1 comes less than one year after the initial launch of MediaPartner 4.0 and reflects the company's commitment to innovation in media management.
"The success of MediaPartner, since its launch last year, has allowed eMotion to gain invaluable insight into the needs of our clients," said Bob Griffin CEO and President of eMotion. "We have used that feedback as the driving factor for our 4.1 release. We are very excited about this release and are looking forward to 4.1 helping eMotion expand its leadership position in the Digital Media Management market."
Workflow Innovations
Added functionality in MediaPartner 4.1 Enterprise edition includes
a customizable brand management project workflow. You can now assign
specific, definable phases to each project, with a timeline that
can be easily manipulated to reflect potential changes in a project's
progress and completion. MediaPartner 4.1 will also automatically
send email reminders to members of a particular project group when
a stage of the project is due. Also part of the enhanced project
workflow is the ability to create sub-projects or a nested hierarchy
within a master project, which allows you to turn the spotlight
on specific segments during the project and use the timeline to
keep the overall objective in sight.
New Collaboration Capabilities
The patented eMotion Viewer now allows you to view, simultaneously,
all annotations made to a media file, for every user and every annotation
session. With one of the new customizable drawing tools called an
Outline, you can hide or show annotations by user, by date or by
time. The enhanced Viewer handles MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video files
with SMPTE time codes, allowing for accurate editing by providing
a direct reference back to the original source tape.
IPTC Tag Support
MediaPartner 4.1 now imports industry standard IPTC header codes
along with TIFF, JPEG and Adobe Photoshop® image files. IPTC
data contain user-entered information for news media usage. MediaPartner
stores the headers as metadata enabling users to search on this
information and, with the correct permissions, alter the details
before sending the file to their customers or suppliers.
A highly anticipated new feature is the Datacenter Loading Utility (DLU), a powerful new tool that works with MediaPartner to rapidly import large amounts of media files, along with any existing metadata, at one time. The DLU provides a simple workflow that allows you to import media files, caption them, upload into collections or projects, and generate browseable versions.
Improved User Interface
And finally, to reinforce eMotion's commitment to usability, MediaPartner
4.1 includes a new design for administrative functions with a more
user-friendly interface and on-screen help.
