eMotion, Inc. Integration of Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 Enables Digital Media Management and Traditional Business Processes
BizTalk Server 2000's XML Integration Allows Companies to Build Dynamic Business Processes that Span Platforms, Media, Applications, and Organizational Boundaries
Vienna, VA - April 24, 2001 eMotion, Inc., the global leader in digital media management (DMM) solutions, today announced an adapter for BizTalk Server 2000 that will enable the ability to couple the management of rich media with the management and use of standard business data found within the digital media value chain. Using BizTalk Server 2000, eMotion MediaPartner 4.0, the only out-of-the-box digital media management product for the corporate market, can now link to applications as diverse as Great Plains, JD Edwards, Pivotal, Siebel, Worldtrack and other leading ERP and CRM vendors.
Both BizTalk Server 2000 and eMotion MediaPartner rely on XML to enable what eMotion CEO, Bob Griffin, calls the digital media value chain. "Our finished, demonstrable work on BizTalk Server 2000 clearly reinforces our commitment to open standards and architectures. Obviously, Microsoft has both the technological and business resources to provide a critical mass platform to any vendor or customer that wants to link essential business processes with their critical media. We are proud that MediaPartner 4.0 is the most open and cost-effective product available for managing digital media, and that we provide multiple avenues to integrate with any partner's expertise in areas outside of our core capabilities."
BizTalk Server 2000 unites enterprise application integration, business-to-business integration, and business process management technology to allow companies to quickly build dynamic business processes that span applications, platforms and businesses over the Internet. "Utilizing BizTalk Server 2000, eMotion MediaPartner can now help manage and distribute the rich digital media content found within the Entertainment industry," said Mark Kapczynzski, principal consultant for Microsoft's Media and Entertainment Group. "With BizTalk Server 2000, Microsoft has lowered the barrier of entry for integration projects across all industries and this new solution will prove to be essential in helping accelerate the growth of the digital media value chain."
David Wascha, Product Manager BizTalk Server 2000, stated, "eMotion's commitment to making a set of adapters available for BizTalk Server 2000 is a seminal event for the Media & Entertainment market. It will help media customers to combine conventional ERP and CRM systems with the power of eMotion's DMM offerings to start to build the digital content supply chain."
Chuck Hurst, VP of Engineering at eMotion concluded, "The name of the game in software development over the past ten years has been 'make it work.' Going forward, 'make it work together' is the critical path. Microsoft and eMotion believe this BizTalk Server 2000 effort is the first event of that New World in Media and Entertainment."
An implementation of BizTalk Server 2000 integrating independent
media vendor applications such as System 7 from Jaguar Consulting
is being demonstrated in the eMotion booth, M8363, at the National
Association of Broadcasters Convention, April 23 - 26 in Las Vegas,
Nevada.
