eMotion Announces Launch of Hosted Service to Support Project-Based Digital Media Management and Creative Collaboration
Discovery Communications Signs on as First Customer of the New CreativePartner® Project Service
VIENNA, VA December 9, 2002 eMotion, Inc., a global provider of digital media management software and services, announced today the launch of CreativePartner® Project, a new service that allows customers to engage eMotion's digital media management software solution and hosting services on a project-by-project basis. The new offering enables eMotion to target a much broader range of customers seeking a digital media management and collaboration solution for creative projects, but not necessarily on a continuous basis. Discovery Communications is eMotion's first customer to take advantage of the new CreativePartner® Project service.
Discovery has used eMotion's media archiving hosted service for the past six years to manage and distribute thousands of digital images, graphics, and logos stored in the company's Virtual Library. Discovery decided to also subscribe to CreativePartner® Project for three months this Fall to take advantage of the new service and its patented content collaboration tools. CreativePartner® Project enabled Discovery to streamline the annual process for selecting its core collection of images that will be featured in the network's branding and marketing initiatives for the coming year.
The core collection image selection process involved over 300 team members from across Discovery's family of networks who contributed graphics and photos for consideration as the signature image to represent nine of Discovery's largest networks. Once the images were uploaded into eMotion's CreativePartner® Project, team members around the world were able to provide feedback and collaborate with one another via an online interface. The CreativePartner® Project service facilitated a more timely and efficient system for managing the selection of Discovery's core collection images.
"The selection of our core collection images is the most important photography project of the year," says Pam Huling, Director of Archive and Content Services at Discovery. "Implementing the CreativePartner Project service provided our global offices a streamlined way to contribute to the process and eMotion's program not only helped us get up and running quickly with a robust solution, but also fostered an effective digital collaboration environment for selecting the best images for each respective network."
The CreativePartner® Project service includes set-up, hosting, operation and administration of a web-based digital media management solution for as little as two weeks to as long as six months or more. Clients can establish a project workspace for their assets (graphics, photos, video and audio files) and take full advantage of what the CreativePartner® solution has to offer:
- Secure archiving of media assets
- Natural language search for easy asset retrieval
- Ability to collaborate and annotate directly on media assets via the patented eMotion Viewer™
- Review and approve assets effectively online
- Set project timelines to guide team-based projects
- Establish global teams with varying levels of access
"In going through the recent restructuring of eMotion, we found an untapped business opportunity that makes sense for today's market," said Richard Fisher, CEO of eMotion. "We can offer customers an economical yet complete solution for managing their digital media management projects, while increasing our potential target audience for software sales."
In addition to CreativePartner® Project, eMotion offers licensed software solutions MediaPartner™ Enterprise, CreativePartner® and ArchivePartner to customers that require a full-time digital media management solution. eMotion has over 50 customers using its products to protect media assets, increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve creative collaboration.
